AUI Marks Women’s Day with Focus on Leadership and Impact Augustine University, Ilara-Epe, marked the 2026 Women’s Day celebration with a well-attended and inspiring event held on Wednesday, 18th March, at the University Convocation Hall. In his welcome address, the Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Professor Anthony Alaba Akinwale, OP, highlighted the vital role of women in nation-building and institutional development, while the Registrar, Mrs. Margaret Aziba delivered the opening remarks, emphasizing the importance of celebrating women’s achievements and contributions within the university community. A major highlight of the event was the keynote address delivered by the Guest Speaker, Anne Osezua, the Head of Student Affairs, Pan-Atlantic University, who spoke on the theme, “Women, Purpose, Leadership, and Community Impact.” Her presentation encouraged women to embrace their purpose, lead with confidence, and contribute meaningfully to society. The programme also featured an interactive session where participants engaged the speaker with questions, fostering meaningful dialogue. The Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Ngozi Chikere recognized outstanding female academic trailblazers within the institution, celebrating their achievements and impact. The event featured a Women’s Day quiz session organized by the Public Relations Unit, alongside spoken word and poetry performances by students, which showcased the creativity and voices of young women in the university.
