Profile & Experiences:
Mr. Ogunbodede Adedeji David is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Chemical Sciences (Biochemistry) at Augustine University, Ilara-Epe, Lagos, Nigeria. He is committed to advancing teaching, research, and community engagement, with research interests spanning Toxicology, Phytomedicine, Nephrotoxicity, Neurodegenerative Diseases, and Drug Safety.
His research focuses on the therapeutic potential of medicinal plants and their application in disease management. His current and previous studies include investigating the effects of Solanum macrocarpon in adenine-induced nephrotoxicity, evaluating the effects of carbamazepine among epilepsy patients in Ogun State, Nigeria, and exploring herbal interventions for neurodegenerative disorders, particularly epilepsy. His work has been published in reputable peer-reviewed journals and presented at national and international scientific conferences.
In addition to his academic responsibilities, he actively contributes to departmental and institutional administration. He serves as Seminar Coordinator and SIWES Coordinator (2023–present), Examination Officer for the 2024/2025 Academic Session, and Level Adviser for 300-level students (2024/2025 Academic Session). He currently serves as Level Adviser for both 300- and 400-level students for the 2025/2026 Academic Session and is a member of the FACUS Community Development Projects (FCDP) Committee.
Dr. Ogunbodede is passionate about fostering student success, promoting innovative research, and strengthening interdisciplinary collaboration. He is particularly interested in the development of phytomedicine as a viable alternative and complementary approach to conventional drug therapy and welcomes opportunities for research partnerships that address contemporary health challenges and contribute to sustainable societal development.
