African Biosciences Ltd Seeks Collaboration with Augustine University

The need for improving the bioscience research capacity, practical and hands-on training in modern biosciences techniques was the thrust of discourse when a team from African Biosciences Limited (ABL) paid a courtesy visit to the Management of Augustine University on Thursday, 3rd August, 2023 at the Senate Chamber.

The team said ABL aims to provide research reagents, supplies and technical support services to the academic, research, healthcare diagnostics and forensic testing sectors in Nigeria and across Africa.

The team added that Augustine University, being one of the few private Universities in Nigeria that offer B.Sc. in Biotechnology and B.Sc. Microbiology, could partner with ABL as the Institution would enjoy systematic structured program that would introduce undergraduate and young aspiring scientists to molecular biology experience training through workshops, and customized trainings.

According to the team, the program would incorporate the zeal for molecular biology techniques in research projects and stimulate the students towards their future careers and economic opportunities in the life science industries.

In his remark, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Christopher Odetunde, said the University Management would review the partnership proposal and see the possibility of kick-starting the relationship.

The meeting had in attendance, the Registrar, Margaret Aziba, Dean, Faculty of Humanities, Management and Social Sciences, Dr. E. Ogundele, Heads of Departments of Biological Sciences and Chemical Sciences.
