ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMMES

PREAMBLE

Prospective candidates seeking admission into the Augustine University must not be less than 16 years of age by October of Admission year. Admission is open to all, irrespective of gender, race, or religion. Prospective candidates would need to satisfy the following general requirements before they are offered admission into the University:

a. All admissions into the University shall be through the Joint Admissions and  Matriculations Board (JAMB)

b.  For admission into 100 level (UTME), candidates must:

  • Obtain a minimum of five (5) Ordinary level credit passes at SSCE (or its equivalent) in relevant subjects including English and Mathematics (in specified Courses) at not more than 2 sittings;
  • Candidates must also pass the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) as specified by JAMB in relevant subjects and satisfy the University requirements in a Post-UTME screening exercise for the Course of study.

c. For admission to 200 level (Direct Entry), candidates should (in addition to five (5) Ordinary level credit passes stated above, obtain at least two (2) A’ level (or its equivalent) full passes in relevant subjects, or possess NCE, or a good first degree in another field as the case may be.

d. All candidates seeking admission into the University must meet the SSCE/NECO or its equivalent basic requirements.

e. All UTME candidates seeking admission into the University must choose Augustine University Ilara as 1st choice of institution on his/her JAMB portal and upload the O'Level result therein for admission consideration.

f. All DE candidates are to obtain JAMB DE form for the year before admission consideration.

ECONOMICS

Two A’ level passes in Economics and any one of Mathematics, Statistics, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Agric Science, Accounting, Bus. Management, History and Government 5 O'Level credits in SSCE(or its equivalent) in English Language, Mathematics, Economics and two other arts or social science subjects

English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any of Government, History,

Literature-in-English, French and CRS/IRS

AUI will accept Commerce or Financial Accounting as UTME Subjects

ACCOUNTING

Two A’ level passes including Economics. Five (5) O'Level credits in SSCE(or its equivalent) including English Language, Mathematics, Economics

Two A’ level passes in Accounting or Economics and one other subject. OR NCE with passes at merit level in relevant subject. OR Foundation International exam such as ICAN, ACCA, ICMA, GPFA Five (5) O'Level credits in SSCE(or its equivalent) including English Language, Mathematics, Economics

English Language, Mathematics ,one Social Science subject and any other subject

 

8 MASS COMMUNICATION Two ‘A’ level passes in Literature in English, Economics or Government and any other Art or Social Science subjects. Credit passes in NCE,ND and JUPEB are allowed Five ‘O’ level credit passes at SSCE (or its equivalent) to include English Language, Literature in English and Government plus at least a pass in Mathematics. English Language, Government and any other subjects from Social Sciences and Arts An O’level Pass in Mathematics is acceptable
9 POLITICAL SCIENCE Two ‘A’ level passes in Government or History and any other 

Social Science subject.

Credit passes in NCE,ND and JUPEB are allowed.
Five ‘O’ level credit passes at SSCE (or its equivalent)  in Government or History, English Language and two other Arts or Social Science subject plus at least a pass in Mathematics. English Language, Government and any other two subjects from Social Science and Arts. An O’level Pass in Mathematics is acceptable

Credit passes in NCE and OND in addition to 5 credits at SSCE (or its equivalent).

Five credit passes in SSCE (or its equivalent) in English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics.

 English Language, Biology, Chemistry and any other Science Subject.

3.

MICROBIOLOGY

 

At least 2 A’ level passes in Biology, Botany, Zoology and Chemistry or Physics.

 

Credit passes in NCE and OND in addition to 5 credits at SSCE (or its equivalent).

Five credit passes in SSCE (or its equivalent) in English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics

 English Language, Biology, Chemistry and any other Science Subject.

4.

PHYSICS

Two A’ level passes in Physics and Mathematics

Five (5) O’ level credit passes in SSCE (or its equivalent) to include English Language, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics.

English Language, Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry or Biology.

5.

COMPUTER SCIENCE

Two A’ level passes in science subjects including Mathematics. OR NCE with at least merit in Mathematics and one other Science or Social Science subject.

Five (5) O’ level credit passes in SSCE (or its equivalent) to include English Language, Mathematics, Physics plus two other Science Subjects.

English Language, Mathematics, Physics and one of Biology, Chemistry, Agric Science, Economics and Geography.

6.

CHEMISTRY

Two A’level passes in Chemistry and any one of Physics, Mathematics or Biology in that order.

      or

Credit passes in HND in addition to 5 Credits in SSCE (or its equivalent)

Five (5) Credits in SSCE (or its equivalent) in English Language, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics & Biology

English Language, Chemistry and any two of Physics, Mathematics & Biology

7.

BIOCHEMISTRY

Two A’level passes in Chemistry and any one of Mathematics, Biology or Physics

Credit passes in HND in relevant field in addition to five (5) credit passes in SSCE (or its equivalent)

9 FISHERIES AND AQUACULTURE Two ‘A’ level passes in any of Chemistry, Biology, Botany, Zoology, Geology, Agricultural Science, and Physics. Credit passes in NCE and ND are allowed. Five ‘O’ level credit passes at SSCE (or its equivalent) in Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Mathematics and English plus any other Science subject. English Language, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science and Physics/Mathematics
10 CYBER SECURITY At least Two ‘A’ level passes in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry Five ‘O’ level credit passes at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English, Mathematics, Physics and any other two Science subjects. English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry
